I am very happy to announce my participation in Maison & Objet next January, an important step in the development of my work and in sharing a practice that is central to my approach: mokuhanga.
Mokuhanga at the heart of my practice
Mokuhanga is a traditional Japanese woodblock printing technique, entirely hand-printed with water-based pigments, without the use of a mechanical press. Each image emerges from a slow and attentive dialogue between wood, paper, pigment and gesture. This practice involves time, repetition and a deep attention to materials.
I had the opportunity to deepen this technique during two artist residencies in Japan, in close connection with this tradition and its cultural context. These experiences have profoundly shaped my way of working and strengthened my commitment to a sensitive, demanding process rooted in the gesture.
What I will present at Maison & Objet
For Maison & Objet, I will present creations developed through my mokuhanga practice: pieces designed to interact with space, at the crossroads of art, craft and design, and intended to be integrated into contemporary living environments.
My intention is to show how an ancient technique can find a meaningful place in today’s interiors, while preserving its depth, poetry and material presence.
Meeting professionals
Maison & Objet is above all a place for encounters and exchanges. I look forward to presenting my work to architects, interior designers, prescribers and visitors, and to sharing conversations around materials, making processes and possible uses of these pieces.
This participation marks a new step in my journey and opens the way to future projects and collaborations.
📍 See you in January in Paris, at Maison & Objet stand J29 / Hall 5A.
I will soon share behind-the-scenes insights and highlights from this experience here on the blog.
